Ko Tapu : ウィキペディア英語版
Khao Phing Kan

Khao Phing Kan ((タイ語:เขาพิงกัน)) or Ko Khao Phing Kan (เกาะเขาพิงกัน) is an island in Thailand, in Phang Nga Bay northeast of Phuket. About from the shores of Khao Phing Kan lies a tall islet called Ko Tapu (เกาะตะปู, ) or ''Khao Tapu'' (เขาตะปู (:kʰǎw tapuː)). The islands are limestone tower karsts〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Thailand: Ko Khao Phing Kan (James Bond Island), Ao Phang Nga (Phangnga Bay) National Park, Phang Nga Province )〕 and are a part of Ao Phang Nga National Park. Since 1974, when it was featured in the James Bond movies ''The Man with the Golden Gun'' and ''Tomorrow Never Dies'', Khao Phing Kan has been popularly called James Bond Island.
==Etymology==
Khao Phing Kan means "hills leaning against each other" in Thai,〔(Phang-nga Town )〕 reflecting the connected nature of the islands, and Ko Tapu can be literally translated as "nail" or "spike" island, reflecting its shape. With "ko" ((タイ語:เกาะ)) meaning "island" and "khao" ((タイ語:เขา)) meaning "hill", the terms ko, khao, and Ko Khao are frequently interchanged in the naming of the islands.〔(Approaching James Bond Island ), 6 Apr 2009〕 After appearing in the 1974 James Bond movie ''The Man with the Golden Gun'', Khao Phing Kan〔Joe Cummings, Becca Blond, Morgan Konn (Thailand ), Lonely Planet (2005) ISBN 1-74059-697-8 p. 642 (web version )〕〔(Thailand: All quiet on the Andaman Sea ), Telegraph.co.uk, 20 Nov 2000〕〔(Time to move on ), Telegraph.co.uk, 18 January 2006〕〔(Thailand's Yao Noi Island, an idyllic retreat good enough for James Bond himself ), DailyMail.co.uk, 12 Dec 2009〕 and sometimes Ko Tapu〔(Travel like 007 ), Msnbc.com, 11 Nov 2008〕 became widely referred to as James Bond Island, especially in tourist guides, and their original names are rarely used by locals.〔 Claudia Springer (James Dean transfigured: the many faces of rebel iconography ), University of Texas Press, 2007 ISBN 0292714440 p. 195〕
